Zimbabwean entrepreneur to restore jobs through his new company called Zimbo263.com

A few weeks ago I wrote an article about the value of online companies. I know it sounds like fable but not until you get employed by one. Elvis Manyika, a Zimbabwean entrepreneur based in Hong Kong has launched the first Zimbabwean advertising and marketing powerhouse, designed by Zimbabweans for Zimbabwean business people who do business locally, regionally and internationally.

‘I started working on it in 2013 after it dawned on me that, despite the obvious brain drain, Zimbabwe has been experiencing since 2000, we still have a lot of talented individuals in the business sector. Unfortunately, these hard working and talented individuals hardly get any exposure due to the fact that the business climate at the moment doesn’t have a platform that is fully supportive of honest, hard working and creative people. This is where Zimbo263 is set to turn things around.’ He said.

Zimbo263 will be offering international quality services ranging from online advertising, market specific advertising, web traffic redirection, development of commercials, logo designing and aggressive marketing of goods, services and events. Zimbo263 is going to be the google of Zimbabwe.

When people google anything related to Zimbabwe they will no longer see the negative and depressing news we are all trying to put behind us. Instead, they will see advertisements of businesses listed on the platform.

“Over 20 000 people have lost jobs this year. Zimbo263, in an effort to help address this problem is hiring 58 talented people this month alone and is expecting to double that number by the end of December”, he promised. “Furthermore, the platform itself will serve as an eBay or amazon website for Zimbabweans where informal traders can do business without worrying about being chased off the street or having their stalls removed. Zimbo263 is apolitical, and because it has no political affiliation we expect the platform to serve people from all walks of life in a harmonious way,” he concluded.

The platform will allow people to buy and sell goods easily and connect with other traders in and around Zimbabwe. Anything one may be looking for or trying to sell will be on Zimbo263. That is the guarantee. Zimbo263 is going to be instrumental in spearheading the transition of Zimbabwe into the world of e-commerce; online business will be the norm in Zimbabwe before the end of the year.

What is different about the platform is that it is linked to various global domain registrars; as a result it gets a lot of traffic and good visibility online. “Our clients will benefit immensely from the exposure. More people seeing their ads and websites = more enquiries = more sales conversion, all done while you are relaxing in the comfort of your home or office. Our platform cannot be affected by internet woes in Zimbabwe nor by power cuts as we have servers based in 4 continents, all of which keep us online all the time. Lastly, because we will only accommodate a limited number of businesses on the website, this will give all members using our service a fair playing field and maximum exposure as it won’t be flooded with too many ads.”
