I first met her years ago before I even dreamt of becoming a professional blogger and serial entrepreneur. She was still doing her junior education. Fast forward to today, she is a changed person. She has managed to transform herself from a school leaver to a powerful car dealer known all over Harare. Today Iam bringing to you, the one, the only, Ruth Bakari. Today we’re going to go A to Z on how you can live your dreams from selling cars. Below is a short interview I had with her.

Me: Ruth, my dime, your dance floor. Welcome to ziminvestos.com.

Ruth:Thanks Simba

Ruth it’s been a while since we last met. I understand I caught you unaware so let’s get to the cases. Tell me, how is business generally.

Tricky! It’s a tricky business model in a tricky market. You have to be in the right niche, which I believe Iam in at the moment. It’s a get and go thing. The market kinda keeps changing now and then and you have to be on your toes.

Excellent! So we are talking about business. Business opportunities and niche markets. Ruth, why are you in business and what’s your niche.

Well, it’s all about making my future brighter and better for myself and for the generations to come. I buy second hand cars which are 4 to 5 star rated, good engine, great condition and mileage from Japan and Tokyo only and resale them in Harare.

Ruth, so really what we are talking about here is an entrepreneurial opportunity in the Zimbabwean Market. Talk about something that you mentioned. Your cars are coming from a different part of the world. Describe how you select your cars? Do you go in person in Japan?

                I buy online

Since there are a lot of car dealers at the moment what separates u from e rest

What separates me is e type of people I venture and pitch my business with. The quality of my friends, my phone book, my mailing list etc. I  mingle a lot and I have tonnes of friends. Quality friends. People who are on the level and are game changers. So word gets out fast. Like red wine on a white tuxedo. Iam  reliable and trustworthy. Iam transparent with my client and I don’t play dirty. A lot of people like to do business with me because of that.

What is your advice to someone who wants to start a car dealership business especially in Zimbabwe?

Right now it would be wise to have another small business that generates a constant and guaranteed flow of income to cater for your financial needs, both business and personal because depending on the type of car and the time of the year, selling a car can take forever.

That’s great advice from our young Zimbabwean entrepreneur. She has highlighted on one of the top millionaire secret. Create multiple streams of income. I have been saving these questions for last. How old are you and when did u start this trade?

Iam twenty one and I started last year.

What made u decide not to look for a job and become an entrepreneur? Is this your first business venture or u have done other things before?

I did look for a job but it wasn’t what I needed. A waitress at a restaurant that gave me $5 per day. Was just a time moving thing so I decided to start my own business, plus Iam still job hunting (laughing).  This is my 1st venture but Iam not done yet. Iam going to spread my wings.

Great to have you on our space. We hope to interview you again one year from now to see how your business has expanded. : Do you have a something you are selling at the moment so people who follow this blog can consider ad maybe give you call.

Yes. A clean baby magnet. A Honda fit(aero skirt) 2002 pearl in colour. Mileage is 92000 km. Engine capacity is 1.3cc. A great fuel saver. You can give me a ring or app me on +263773928363.

Thank you Ruth for such great business insights. Below is a picture of the Honda fit she is selling. If you are interested you can up her on her number +263773928363 or call her. If you like this post, like us and share us on social media. If you have questions put them below on our comments tab.
