Chicken Soup for the Soul by Jack Canfield & Mark Victor Hansen

If there is one book you should read without considering any review, Chicken soup for the soul should be it. The book was coauthored by two of America’s greatest minds, the amazing Jack Canfield and America’s ambassador of possibilities Mark Victor Hansen. I first learnt about the book when I watched the movie, ‘The secret’ and was inspired by how it took them time to find a publisher. This book which later became a best seller was rejected by more than 20 publishers who believed no-one would read such a book. Surprisingly the book had to be translated to more than 31 languages because of demand. I know what Iam telling you doesn’t validate the book, but since this an investment portal, I thought it would motivate someone giving up on their idea. This was Mark and Jack’s breakthrough to stepping up their careers as motivational speakers. They believed that to get something done, you had to ask.

Jack Canfield repeats this concept in almost all of his books and emphasizes on how important the asking principle is in getting what you want. He even says, ‘To get what you want you are going to need to ask, ask, ask, ask and say next, next, next until you get the yes(es) you are looking for. Asking is, was, and always will be a numbers game. Don’t take it personally, because it isn’t personal. It’s just not a match until it is.’ In fact, as you read this book, these important concepts are mentioned. Reading this book is as healthy and soothing as having real chicken soup, but there’s isn’t for the flesh but for the soul.

On the other side is Mark Victor Hansen, the men who made me understand the miracle of tithing in his free book gave the book depth. He is amazing. He is the man who taught me the concept of fixed income which I always use in our consulting sessions and training programs. Whenever I mentions quotes from him in seminars, people ask me which schools I went to and college I graduated from. He really has that effect on me. Mark Victor Hansen isn’t a motivational speaker. He is a transformational speaker who isn’t all about talk. I have read more than five books by him and surprisingly coauthored by great minds like Robert G Allen. And as I said, this book is one which doesn’t need me to validate or review the way I have done with other books here but it should speak for itself. I have pulled a page from the book and retyped it here just to provoke you.

The Rules For Being Human

  1. You will receive a body.

You may like it or hate it, but it will be yours for the entire period of this time around.

  1. You will learn lessons.

You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called Life. Each day in this school you will have the opportunity to learn lessons. You may like the lessons or think them irrelevant and stupid.

  1. There are no mistakes, only lessons.

Growth is a process of trial and error: Experimentation. The “failed” experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiment that ultimately “works.”

  1. A lesson is repeated until learned.

A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learned it. When you have learned it, you can then go on to the next lesson.

  1. Learning lessons does not end.

There is no part of life that does not contain its lessons. If you are alive, there are lessons to be learned.

  1. “There” is no better than “here.”

When your “there” has become a “here,” you will simply obtain another “there” that will again look better than “here.”

  1. Others are merely mirrors of you.

You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects something you love or hate about yourself.

  1. What you make of your life is up to you.

You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice is yours.

  1. Your answers lie inside you.

The answers to Life’s questions lie inside you. All you need to do is look, listen and trust.

  1. You will forget all this.

Funny how it ends, and painful that even after me mention this important book to you, you will forget all this. Hush! So this is the type of stuff you are definitely going to find in this book. Do you agree with what Cherie Carter Scott says in this book? Share your thoughts in the comments tab below and as always, to your continued success.
