What are Paulownia Trees?

Paulownia trees have the potential to grow to a height of 10 metres in only 3 years. A full-grown Paulownia can be more than 15 metres where it will be fully ready for cutting. The plantation can be irrigated if annual rainfall drops under 100mm per month. Harare alone which forms part of Region 2 has average annual rainfall of 840mm. In other countries, even highly polluted water may be used as additional watering which is another huge advantage of the fast growing tree. • Paulownia is about 2/3 the weight of the lightest commercial wood grown
• Paulownia has a better ratio strength / weight than the Balsa

• Its burning time twice higher than other types of wood
